this is the song im trying to play. its easy, just a little fast. one of those thats very simple once u remember what to play -_-
what makes a song fun to play is not the complicated bassline. it may be simple and repetitive, but if its accompanied by sick (and by sick i mean bloody great) drumming/guitar riff/vocals, it is amazing! of course it helps if the bassline's upbeat. hahahaha but im just talking to myself, arent i?

ookie. went to the so called anti-fatigue lens erm lecture? just now. who else but daryl doing the talking/selling. after that still got bun to eat. haha wth. made me wake up so early. oh wells. i couldnt sleep anyway.

there's curry chicken for lunch! yay! to celebrate 'graduation'! HAHA

went to the beach again. this time was good.
no one talking. not many people around.

waves were quiet. leaves rustling.
dark silhouettes of coconut trees against a cloudless purple sky. and a sprinkling of stars.
and amidst all that my head is still hazy.

but i came home, watched a few An Cafe PVs. that cleared my head a bit. i mean, can anyone watch this and not feel like all his/her cares are gone with the wind?

i keep forgetting to switch off the amp. dammmmn.

though im not really complaining.
doing my own stuff - on my own - is comforting.

was working over the weekend.
wasnt too bad. customers have been somewhat generous.
it seems im still quite accident prone. cut my finger and broke a nail. daaaaaaaaamn.

wa capitol give angpao leh since its CNY. $10. interesting.

still, 2 days of talking has made me dry up.
how much am i being paid?

now that im home and free, gotta start with the chores again. -_-

i went to the beach again. walk walk.
slight breeze. but a noisy night.
a couple talking (very loudly, i might add). another couple walking (dragging their feet, rather). Humming generators from offshore kelongs.
drowning out the sound of the rhythmic waves.
a pity.
i thought the moon wasnt showing up tonight, but as i was heading home it came out of hiding.

they say alone-time like these help clear your mind. i guess it doesnt apply to everyone.

will be working tmr.
at least there is some kind of income, but i dread it anyways.

man. another day passed.
but when i say im bored, it doesnt mean im sick of this way of living. i love this aimless parasitic lifestyle. it is easy. convenient.
when i say im bored, it means i wish there was something to interest me for the moment. because i am the kind of person who needs change. on small scales. because i am easily bored. yet easily amused at the same time. ah. how contradictory.

perhaps youve noticed. this blog post doesnt seem to have much meaning to it. not that any of my posts are supposed to be meaningful.
i am bored. now.

i would like to have friends i can talk to when im bored. but im not good at talking. neither am i good at maintaining relationships. i think i have commitment issues. i dont even like to make plans. ask me out and i'll give u a reply the night before. and maybe change my mind in the morning.
making plans makes me jittery. its an unexplainable uneasiness from the core. yikes.

i think i'd be happy with a freelance job. but a freelance what?
of course something like that isnt practical at all. no stability. i'd be digging my own grave. sometimes it seems i drive myself to a corner. then run away from it.
its mental.
well everyone has issues.

i don't know why my friends stick around. if i am the person i think i am, i wouldnt want to befriend me. actually i don't think it'd be possible to anyway.

i was looking at my msn contacts who were online. i am one of those people who've added their own addess as a contact.
sometimes i wish i can talk to me.
but i have a feeling that would be boring.

maybe my conversation with myself will go something like this:
Me: hey
Ryu: hey
Me: bored.
Ryu: yea.

cue the sound of crickets

then one of us will pick up the bass and start playing. it will probably be around midnight.

in the end didnt take over jac's room cuz i like the view from my room. hahahahahahah and its windier here too. and this is the furthest corner of the house. furthest from the other neighbors that is. and it is closest to the beach. unfortunately this is also the smallest room.

Jac's room getting very dusty. empty. got that no-one-stay-here kinda feeling already. maybe i should visit it more often. or else it will start to feel like the storeroom. just that it's empty.

i hijacked quite a few things from her room.
im feeling a bit like whatshistname Sirius Black's house elf. except im not just keeping the things i take. im actually using it. HAHAHAHAHAHA

see i made myself a cosy corner. for the bass and laptop. cosy corner to rot.

in my bid to get more organised, i have brought in a noticeboard! except it is a black whiteboard. geddit? the ones you write on with neon markers. hahahahaha but markers are messy. im using paper and magnets.
since that board is black, the desk is black, the laptop is black, the bass is black, amp is black, subwoofer is black, mouse is black, and clothes behind are also black,
i have me a very cosy, black corner.

no i do not have black walls. an unfortunate oversight.

this house is suddenly looking quite spacious.
not only did she leave behind a messy room for me to clean up, she's also left behind hairspray, hair wax, shampoo and conditioners.
that means, among other things, i now have 3 cans of hairspray, 4 jars of wax and 5 bottles of shampoo. oh and at least 5 kinds of shower foam.

anyways, now that i have a lot of free time im surfing the net a lot. finding new bands to listen to (new bands turn out to be so old, theyve disbanded =_=) ie kagerou.
wth!?! v difficult to find songs by them just floating around. quite a few guitarpro tabs though. thats helpful. kagerou's basslines arent that tough. somewhat fast, but nothing mindblowing. not that ive tried all of them. i'd say DEG's are more difficult. but thats just me. im probably just rhythm-challenged. which is, sad to say, horrible if i want to play bass.
ooh and then there's Flea and Jepha. i doubt i'll ever be able to play RHCP and the Used songs. except for the easy ones tried when i just picked up bass.

dad mentioned i could start taking driving lessons. im not that psyched.

a pretty inefficient way to paint a room.

unfortunately the tab i found of this song is tuned over 2 steps down! WTF! the strings will be so slack it will be impossible to play! another song to add to the 'to learn when i get a 5 or 6 string bass'.

• osim eye mask (never used leh!)
• various boutique carriers
• civil defense emergency booklets. (wonderful! now i will have something to do in case of emergency! read!)
• chinese electronic dictionary!
• mini rubbish bin -_- i dunno why i need 2 bins..

but most of all,

• the green ikea snake! which i believe is out of production and which we bought for $1.90 XD.

today (or rather, yesterday) we went to JB. CNY day 2. after lunch at tebrau at some restaurant (good food!) we walked around the mall. then we popped by someone's house. that led to dinner at another chinese restaurant. this one nearly made me puke cuz i was sooo stuffed. but this time we had the classic CNY dinner. raw fish, pork, sharks fin, fish, prawns, mushrooms, weird disgusting shrivelled foetus-looking things etc. cmi. im going on a diet starting tmr. :(


oh. after dinner we went to play with whatyoucallem FIREWORKS! HAHAHAHA we boring sg kids setting off fireworks. damn nice ah! and so loud! pics later, theyre still in the memorystick in jac's cam. some threw sparks out 360, changed color, and others that just went BOOM! -_-

those things just burn really bright and whistle really loud as they whizz skywards. and obviously that is not me, since im behind the cameraphone

and then after the fireworks we went to the karaoke place that was supposed to be owned by dad's friend. something like that. of course we didnt sing. i honestly think everyone must be of the opinion that we are the most guai (not as in weird, dumbass) family. and most boring too.

anyway that family sure can sing. the (other dad) is supposed to be some vocal coach. i have a feeling ailing wouldve loved that place.

using the dead as pie filling totally grossed me out. but all that talk about pies gave me a pastry-craving. just not for meat-filled ones. or anything with mush-like fillings. oh god. revolting. perhaps i'll start with fruit tarts. and work my way through :S

ok. skip to the 2nd day at genting. buffet dinner at Resort cafe after running around the themepark, which turned out to be SUPER! ...boring, that is. no kick at all. guess im getting too old for this themepark. im also getting too fat for buffet dinners.
after-dinner silliness. nice ceiling, dontcha think?
jac's really glad. the buffet was only 29.50ringgit per person. very worth the money, she says! less than S$15!
too bloated to move.
jac was energetic as usual.

this was taken at genting themepark (dinosaurland?) thats the only pic we have from the themepark. didnt bring the camera along. T_T it started out with a slight drizzle (brrr!) but that cleared up soon enough.

breakfast was expensive. tourist attractions have sucky pricing for everything.

checked in at 6am. headed to KL around 8.

so we finally reach KL city. took public transport to get around. 3 different kinds of trains! i don't even know what theyre called! was confusing as hell.

the heat was hell, as well. lol
